    Did Foreman avoid Holmes?

This has been an interesting topic in the past. In the 90's when both George and Larry were on the comeback trail and doing well even as boxings old timers they surprisingly never met in the ring. In a recent interview on this website Eric Butterbean Esche had this to say......"I’ve had dinner many times with George Foreman and George would say the one reason he didn’t want to fight Holmes was because he was such a tricky fighter – he made everyone look bad."

I've always thought Larry would be George in the 90's.

IMO, Holmes vs. Foreman is the late 1970's ... sub in Holmes for Jimmy Young, would be viewed as a game changer in all time great rankings for Holmes who I think would have won.

IF this happened, Holmes is the#1 all time heavyweight based on accomplishments. Think about that!

They should have fought in the 90”s though ,both were fighting guys they shouldn’t be fighting many times but getting Foreman in the ring with him would have been a choir he didn’t like movers he tried fighting stationary guys as possible at least after Holyfield he completely took safer fights if he could he even gave up a belt to avoid Tucker , he was lucky to win a belt against Moorer a guy that stood in front of him and it took 10 rounds to land a shot he needed .

Im assuming Larry would’ve won at any time but I’d be sure rooting fir Foreman bc I can’t stand Larry either, he’s still at today he literally went to that Fury vs Usyk fight just to tell everyone he doesn’t know who any of the boxers are and how great he is , I’m sure you’ll come up with something clever though ,I’m dying to hear it or something real crazy in how Foreman avoided him if you can do the Klitschko brothers like that you got a lot of ammo here . Your Klitschko takes are legendary on here . Lol

Spolier alert : Butter Bean has dinner with Foreman then signs to fight Holmes who makes Butter Bean look good .
My Klitschko takes aren't quite as legendary as your threats of beating poster up on here. The only difference is I back up what I say while you just run your mouth. Try staying on topic Corky. You were doing OK until your ADHD kicked in.

I think Holmes would have always beaten Foreman. But by the time the fight was viable in the 70's George had retired.

Holmes lost about two rounds to Shavers and one of the happened when Shavers landed his best bomb.

But you are right when you speak of Jab's antipathy towards Klitschko.

You two are like butter knives amongst butcher knives. You're just not very sharp. I like the Klits just fine. Both were very good fighters. It's not my fault they never pursued rematches with Byrd (Vits) or Sanders (Wlad). But if you'd like to start a new thread on it I'll be happy to take you both to school again. If not, please stay on topic.

They was born the same year, but George had already carved out his legacy and retired before Lar ever got ranked.

The guy Tubby Lar ducked was Duane Bobick who knocked him out of the Olympic team where Bobick would end up a Silver Medalist.

Comeback George targeted Mike Tyson and fought a succession of squat muscly heavies that landed him a Fight of the Century with a split $25Mil purse in Tiananmen Square, Bejing that was cancelled after The Massacre. George ended up making his $$$ anyway while Lar was always scrapping for peanuts.

George is a very gracious personality and always complimentary as compared to Lar who was bitter over dropping Rocky's Jockstrap on his big ****** feets. Lar also ducked the big $$$ Norton immediate rematch. In short, Lar never beat a hvy having won his title in the ring as he ducked a succession of fine WBA champs.

Lennox lewis was born before Tyson, yet his prime came after and lasted longer than Tysons. So what!!!

Holmes didn't duck a Norton rematch. Norton decided to fight Shavers and got starched.

The Tyson-Forman fight was only proposed, it was never signed. Get the facts straight

Holmes was the better all-around boxer. I would have to give him the edge for his superior jab, footwork and busier hands. He had a good enough chin to hold up against big George, maybe even has to pick up himself up off the canvas, but I think he pulls off a very close UD or SD win.
