You Get To Attend One Historical Fight

You Get To Attend One Historical Fight

I assume almost everyone will choose a fight there is no film record of--but you never know. Some might want a particular fight because of its atmosphere or historical significance rather than the fight itself.

For me it would be Greb/Walker, because Greb was a complete stranger to film and Walker was filmed sparingly.

There are a few others I would also slaver to attend. Cerdan/Lamotta, Tunney/Greb (any), Langford/Johnson, others.

Go back to the beginning of the modern age.

    The Carnival of Champions.

One ticket, three nights at the Olympic Club, New Orleans 1892.

From New York to New Orleans on a 'smoker'; two days of cigars and bourbon neat; poker, working girls, and sleeper cars.

Winner take all fights; fights to the finish; men in hats and suits, ringside seats, no women.

The Great John L. walking to the ring one last time.

    A beer.

I came on ready to write Greb v Walker, but others have clearly articulated why it would be cool.

Outside of fights Ive never seen (or in the case of Greb fighters), I'll go with Hagler v Hearns. To be there for the WAR would've been amazing.

              - - John L vs Kilrain: horrific punishments handed out over 70 something bareknuck rounds.

Not Charley Burley vs Holman Williams, when both men were rebuked by the referee and sent to the showers for their lack of action!

I was also going to pick Greb-Walker. But as pointed it's been picked a few times already. So I'll go with Langford-Ketchel. This was the fight that was supposed to get Sam a title shot and I've always felt he MAY have held back on Ketchel as to not scare him off.
