    Favorite Fights By Weight Class

    I originally wanted to resurrect the original thread. But for the life of me, I can’t find it anywhere so I’m just gonna call it lost for now. For those unfamiliar with the original, you are supposed to name the best fight you’ve seen in the weight classes listed below. If you have a fight in mind that technically took place in any betweener weight classes, no worries. Just round them up or down and count them as part of the main 9 weight classes anyway. I’ll start us off by listing mine

    HW: Rid**** Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield Trilogy

    CW: James Toney vs. Vassily Jirov

    LH: Archie Moore vs. Yvonne Durelle 1

    MW: Roberto Duran vs. Iran Barkley

    WW: Micky Ward vs. Arturo Gatti 1

    LW: Roberto Duran vs. Esteban DeJesus 2

    FW: Bobby Chacon vs. Rafael Limon 4

    BW: Naoya Inoue vs. Nonito Donaire 1

    FlyW: Roman González vs. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai 1

    Edit: May the creator of the original thread come forward so I can give proper credit where it’s due?

    Favorite fights

    (My guy didn't necessarily win, but these are the fights, off top my head, that put me on the edge of the couch.)

    HW --> Tyson-Douglas

    LHW --> Rossman-Galindez I

    MW --> Benvenuti-Rodriguez

    WW --> Duran-Lenorad I

    LW --> Bramble- Mancini I

    FW --> Lopez-Ayla

    BW --> Tapia-Romero *

    FW --> Carbajal-Gonzalez I

    *I Realize it was Super Fly Weight bout not Bantam but it the best little guy fight that I ever saw, so I rounded up. Wish I could of seen some of the old great little guys, e.g. Fighting Harada, but never did.

      That’s perfectly fine. Btw, I recommend Harada’s fight with Jofre. It’s my runner up for best bantamweight battle if you don’t count Barrera vs. Morales

        - - Arguello/Pryor 1, the singular combination of the most dynamic, the most ebb and flow, the most changing of boxing styles and nuance, the most gut wrenchingly give and take fight I ever seen with one of the most concussively dramatic endings.

        Sal Sanchez last fight vs Zoomy pillar to post non stop action that managed to make Tubby Lar who was still skinny and Fat Bob who used to be skinny swaller their Giant egos for a proper appreciation of such a fight.

          Do you call the Arguello/Pryor fight a lightweight or welterweight fight. Cause it does take place in a tweener weight class

            - - No, it was the kind of fight that *****s limitations of weight classes, titles, and the rest of the unholy lot of boxing.

                Went the extra mile to include tweener classes, neat. Of the one I have seen, I can confidently say they’re all good choices and the ones I haven’t seen are all ones I’ve already planned to check out. Except for Benn-McClellan; doesn’t feel watching it knowing what happened as a result. Which is a shame, cause it looks like if it wasn’t carrying that baggage I’d probably really like it

                  Yep. That was one of the greatest things I ever seen. Definitely my favorite also

                    I understand, man.

                    The crazy thing that it's my favorite fight just due to the atmosphere and the action, but it is hard to watch knowing whats happening to McClellan.

                    So, I'm torn as hell, but I will tell you it was a great fight. It's just that the ref allowed too many rabbit punches.
