Evander Holyfield (2nd best fighter Holmes fought what happened? Evander easy outjabbed and toyed with Larry)

(Earnie Shavers a glassy chinny no gass one tricky pony managed to go distance with Holmes 54-7 LHW Quarry hammered him)

Carl Williams (was Robbed Holmes got Lucky)

Renaldo Snipes (a journeymen dropped Larry Holmes down)

Muhammad Ali (still stands after these dirty shots Ali fought with parkinson)

Ken Norton (featherfisted glassy chinned way past prime was not a great fighter and arguably beat Larry Holmes)

Ray Mercer (gatekeeper Jesse Ferguson beat this guy was featherfisted)

Michael Spinks (was moving from LHW and beat overrated Holmes 2x)

The 80s was an incredibly weak era, and it's true he got a few gifts against B/C level guys in his prime. The Ali fight was farcical, and Holmes really should have had the decency to pull out of that fight against a man who in the build up to the fight (footage on Youtube) struggled to get off a chair.

Larry Holmes is a poor man's Kevin Johnson. Deep down everyone knows this. He couldn't even do what Danny Williams and Kevin McBride did, beat the overrated Mike Tyson. I rate Holmes on the level of Bruno, another who was massively overrated, and Bruno was just a poor man's David Price. Nash out.

I see a pattern to most of your posts. It goes like this, make a totally ****** post and then try to defend it. My question is, do you just post for shock value or do you actually believe all of this ignorant bu!!shyte you post?

Holmes is universally rated top 5 ATG heavyweight champion by boxing historians. Page, Thomas, Coetzee, Dokes, Witherspoon etc are never rated as none of them were ever heavyweight champion of the world.

                  Hmm, let's see...

                  1. His left jab is rated among the best in HW history.
                  2. Beat all contenders in his prime and successfully defended it.
                  3. 69 wins and 6 losses, ALL loses in title fights.

You can only beat who was there at the time. And he did that. You can't rate Holmes on his loss to Tyson, as Tyson himself said in the post-fight interview, "That wasn't Holmes..."

ANY fighter who wins a title in any weight class in boxing is a great fighter- some people clearly underestimate how mammoth a task it is to step in a boxing ring and do well, let alone win a world title. Boxing isn't UFC.
