    Young Stribling: Unbelievable Record

    Total fights 289
    Wins 256
    Wins by KO 128
    Losses 16
    Draws 14
    No contests 0

This is the second-highest number of knockouts by any professional boxer in history after Archie Moore. What is even more notable is that he died at the age of only 28, so he would surely hold the record otherwise (people always note that Pancho Villa had over 100 fights when he died at 23, but Stribling had nearly 300 at 28).

Video of notable fights against Schmeling and Sharkey can be found on youtube.

Fought for the heavyweight title against Schmeling in 1933 and lost by 15 round KO.

Lost a points decision to Jack Sharkey, on the undercard of which, according to boxrec, "A battle royale of 12 black fighters opened the card."

I have been extremely impressed with this guy for years now. take away his untimely death and he would have been remembered with the like of Langford and other greats. Looking at his fight per year rate, does anyone think he wouldn't have *****ed Archie Moore for most career ko's?

The man achieved success against credible opposition in the Lightweight, Welterweight, Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight divisions. Not the success Langford achieved, but success nonetheless, and in the very same divisions. Speaking of Langford, people keep finding more fights on him. His KO count now reads 128, the same amount as Stribling.
