There WAS a cruiserweight division. They just called it heavyweight back then. Who cares whether they called 150lbs vs 150lbs "heavyweight" in the medieval ages. It stays 150lbs.

Schmeling vs Joe Louis (192 vs 198) WAS NOTHING BUT a cruiserweight fight.

The cruiserweight limit was 190 lbs until a few years ago anyway. Roy only weighed 193 when he beat Ruiz yet he was recognized as a legitimate heavyweight title holder.
