Indeed it was and was probably his greatest fight. Kalambay is a highly underrated fighter. He was one of the best fighters of that period bar none. Sadly, his first round KO loss to Nunn, very odd, always put him in the back seat when talking of the great fighters of that stunning era of JMW's and MW's.

I love that fight. I used to watch it over and over. Kalumbay was perfect in it. Great movement, jab, slick defense, speed, just everything. On that night he could have beaten any fighter in the world.
