Ok this is a thread for those fighters that never really became a Champion, But stood in the ring with the best and gave it there all and won your respect.

i have a few that ill name later, but first i want to hear a few from you guys.

Jimmy Young(Fights against Ali and Dokes were close losses and he beat George Foreman).

Yaqui Lopez(Gave Saad Muhammad hell before being ko'd in the 14th)

Edwin Viruet(two very close losses to Duran).

Howard Davis(lost razor thin decisions to Rosario and Watt for the lightweight title in their hometowns).

Eijiro Murata(fought to draws with Pintor and Chandler when they were the reigning bantam champs)

What do you mean by champion? Like alphabelts or a lineal kinda deal?

Emmanuel Augustus, Micky Ward, Arturo Gatti, are the first that come to mind for me

I know he's a champion, but I used to hate Sugar Ray Leonard and considered the guy a baby faced *****.. until I saw him take on Marvin Hagler.

He made a believer out of me that night.

Co-sign those that said Augustus. Dude's got the skill and the style to be a champ and a star. Too bad he spent his whole career gettin robbed blind. Andrade too. Kessler owned him, but couldn't take his heart or KO him, and that Bute ref should be suspended. I'd respect Miranda a lot more if he hadn't talked so much **** prior to his failures.
