True Multi-Division WORLD Champions

I know these days we hear it alot. So and so has been a world champion at 4 different classes. However, few people outside of the hardcore boxing crowd make a distinction between belt holder and lineal champion.

With that being said, how many true multi-division world champions have their been during the recent past? With all of these guys moving up (and down) in weight classes and winning pieces of the Alphabet soup have any of them actually won multiple world titles as opposed to just winning belts?

Do all of the alphabet boys water down the accomplishment of winning true multiple-world titles? Do you personally make a direct distinction between lineal champion and WBA/WBC/IBF/IBO/WBO, etc. title holders?

Leonard was a true multi division Champ for beating Hagler ( I thought he lost but O well) Henry Armstrong Obviously, Pacquaio for fighting the best at both divsions and a few others like RJJ but there are quite a few to name but some that go up and fight the weak link the the division should get credit for beating a top fighter but not for being True multiple world title holder

Tito actually wasn't lineal at 54; Castillejo was. And Toney wasn't the champ at 200 because Jirov never fought Gomez (and Gomez at cruiser was better than Jirov by a hair or five). Otherwise, good stuff.

Jones was never the lineal champ at any weight class. He was arguably the best at 60, 68 and 75 though when he was there.

I don't know if I'm alone or not, but to me going up in weight just to get a belt isn't all the significant. I'm not downplaying anyone's accomplishments I just don't think they should mentioned along side the true, multi-division world champions like they are.
