    Young Terry

Hi I'm new here. This is a great site for boxing and boxing history.
I'm am writing a book on my dad's life. Years ago he told me he faught under the name of Young Terry in the NY, NJ, and surounding areas. He was a Bantemweight I believe. I can't seem to find that name in the late 1920's or early 1930"s. Can anyone here tell me where the best place to look would be. Thank you. John

The record is deceiving. He was much better than the numbers say. The wins over Jackie Fields (former Olympian and World Champ) and the formidable Solly Kreiger are very impressive.

No that's not him. He was born in 1908 in NY. That's the name though. Maybe I misunderstood him. I was a teenager at the time and didn't always listen lol. John

I would have been more impressed if it was him. Boxrec may have the Birthday incorrect and it is strange that that guy is from the same area sorta. That guy had a win of Teddy Yarosz and has a good record with some big names of the time on it.

wow, no disrespect but if he was born in 1908 and you're his son you must be in your 70's correct?

Probably not men routinely established careers and didn't father children till almost 50 about 50+ years ago.

Do you think the NY boxing commission would have records going back to the 1920's? Thank you all for your help. John
