my top 5 of all times at 135

    1. roberto duran
    2. pernell whitaker
    3. benny leonard
    4. joe gans
    5. ike williams

Unlike most people i did alot of research and based my top 5 on commonsense, not favourtism towards certain eras. Duran is easily better than benny, its a no-contest. He won the welterweight belt off one of the all time greats, and he won the 154 and 160 belts too. Benny Leonard couldnt even win the welterweight belt off an average fighter like ted kid lewis. Infact, that draw is considered by many as a loss for benny.

I have seen footage of both benny and pernell in action, no ****in way does benny beat him. Whitaker would outclass this guy and show techincal superiority.

Armstrong isnt on my list cuz he didnt accomplish much at 135, most of the stuff he did was at 126 and 147.

Ring ****zine rankes pernell as #10 p4p of all times and they rank him as the 3rd best lightweight ever. Yet you got guys like yogi on this forum claiming that he isnt even top 7 in his own weight class. Excuse me if pernell was too modern for you, lol. He accomplished more than carlos ortiz, tony canzonori, and joe gans, live with it.

    #2

This is your favorite 5, not the greatest 5 at 135, right?

Armstrong seldom weighed over the 136 lbs. Back then welter was a lower weight limit anyways.

Well, at least you got Duran and Gans in there, but if you get any dumberer, we're gonna have to confiscate your cajones and give ya some wiffle balls!

Chavez and Mayweather both spent short amounts of time at 135.

Chavez's best weight class accomplishment wise was 140, then 130. Maywather's was definitely 130.

I agree with the top 4, maybe the orders from 2-4 are interchangable. I'm not sure who my #5 would be.

As said earlier, Armstrong weighed in as a lightweight for his welterweight title fights. That counts towards his WW ranking since he was defending his title, but would you also want to count that towards his lightweight standing?

wow ur pretty ******, all u ever do is make posts regarding what i say. How about u make a top 5 list and then i can see how dumb you are, ok.

I mean seriously, what do u do on this forum. You follow me around as if u love me, and then you say my post is dumb even though you have no explanations to it what so ever. Please name 1 guy that i put on my list that wouldn't belong in the top 5, ur the moron, not me. I find it hard to believe that you are 58 years old, cuz you act like ur 12.

As for your armstrong arguement, rocky usually weighed 190 pounds for his heavyweight title fights, why dont we put him in the cruiserweight rankings smart ass.

Why the Benny Leonard hate? I dont see how what he did at 147 would affect his standing at 135. Duran wasn't to spectacular at the higher weights either he won belts but was never considered the man in any of those divisions.

Top 5 looks good to me though if you want Pete #2 then thats up to you.

                    I suppose that's a decent list.
