    If Roy Jones Jr...

stayed at one weight class would his legacy be greater? Imagine if he never left the middleweight division? Or started his career at lightheavy? Who beats him?

Dude his legacy is locked in stone, the only people that say his legacy is gone are ****in haters that want to brag about some old farts being ranked higher than him. Roy was a master of the sweet science, he beat 4 future hall of famers and he will go down as one of the best fighters that ever lived. **** the haters, they know nothing about boxing. Ezzard, Tunney and Spinks are the only guys i rank higher at 175. BoB foster is a bitter guy and hes jealous cuz he got ktfo many times in his prime and his competiton at 175 was crap except the guy he actually beat to get the title.

i agree with you at his prime Roy Jones fight was like he was sparring with them.

and i dont think his legacy would be the same he is what he is because he taken the chance and stepped up to stronger guy then him without his speed going down.

Hopkins and Toney are two of the most credible names to have on any resume. But would they have anything to dispute with Benn or Eubank( eventually), Calzaghe, Trinidad, De la Hoya, Wright, Taylor...the competition goes on, that handfull is more credible than anyone he fought above middleweight.
I'm not RJJ expert, however I am fimilar with him...Guy fought good, but I think alot of his legacy is how he was able to go to a higher weight and still dominate...I mean most people hold Heavyweights in Higher regard (for one reason or another) and had he stayed at middleweight he probably be considered a great middleweight fighter but since he moved around he's considered one of the best all around fighters/one of the best P4P fighters.....

        or maybe I'm completely wrong

A superfight with Toney looms at 168 that Roy Jones cant resists, and a future match up with amateur rival Gerald McClellan awaits Roy too, Jones already ready defeated Hopkins and if he stayed at Middleweight, he'd have to contend with the likes of keith holmes, william Joppy and everyone Hopkins beat. Sad to say, after Benn-McClellan, Jones became reluctant.

Jumping around didn't hurt him; and I feel he was just too big to remain at 160. What hurt him are the matches that didn't happen.

Thomas hearns was way too big at welterweight, so i dont think its fair to say hagler's best win is over a smaller fighter. Hearns beat the top super middleweights and light heavyweights, hagler was just that good pal.

Roy at 168 would have been untouchable, DM is going to be irrelevant when it comes to history cuz he only had a couple of big name fights, even if he had the linear belt.

lol!!!! Dude, I have nothing but respect for Hagler; and since Hearns did win a Light-Heavyweight title twice and beat legitimate middleweights, then Hagler's win over him is indeed substnatial....but, Tommy did fight at 147 first.

Also, regarding Jones, "woulda been" don't mean ****. What a fighter does is all that matters....and if he leaves questions unanswered, like "How would Dempsey have done agaisnt Harry Wills?"....he's fair game to pundits. After that, it's a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact.

We know Dempsey was better than those he defeated before and after winning the title; we can only guess as to how he would have done against Wills or Godfrey. We know Jones was better than those men whom he defeated; but we can only guess as to how he would have done against Nunn, McClellan, Benn, Eubank, or Micelewski (?). ...and I have it on very, very good authority.....that Jones purposefully ducked Nunn because he didn't believe he could beat him.
