    How good was Laszlo Papp?

I read up a little about Lazlo Papp, how he won 3 olympic gold medals, had a great career in the amateur ranks then turned pro at 31.His country pulled the plug on his pro career just before he was goin to fight for the title.

Im just wondering just how far he could have gone in the pro ranks had the hungarian government not stepped in?

Could he have won the title, made several defences then retired undefeated,or would he have fell just short after spending many years in the amateur's and only turning pro at 31 with his best years possibly behind him.

    Any thoughts?

    - -Well, he whooped the guy who strapped the 3rd loss on SRRobinson career and did well.

Sadly forgotten in modern here today gone tomorrow culture.

Really good. Undefeated as a pro, three time olympic champion, couldn't fight for the title because his country didn't allowed him. (Later on he was present at the first pro fight held in Hungary with a deep resentment as he felt he deserved to be the first world champion from his country). He was a short, explossive, southpaw with an European style but more agressive, he also beat future champ Jose Torres at the Olympics.
