April 2, Vienna, Austria: Unheralded German middleweight Marten Arsumanjan (12-1-2) knocked out hometown hero Marcos Nader (23-2-1) in the fifth to retain the EU crown and win the IBF International title.

Nader entered the ring as a big favorite with the bookmakers but walked into what one ringsider described as a lucky punch and that was it.

Nader turned pro with Team Sauerland back in 2009 but left pro boxing in 2014 to return to the amateurs. In 2018 he came back in professional boxing and was 5-0 in his comeback.

April 2, Ruda Slaska, Poland, Miner and professional boxer Robert Talarek (26-14-3) fights usually on the road but this time he headlined a show at home and knocked out Greek Alexandros Kirsanides (3-3) in the second of a scheduled eight rounder made at super middle.

April 2, Sevilla, Spain: Russian (living in Sevilla) Arsenii Garibian (7-1) knocked out Czech journeyman Pavel Abrecht (12-17) in the first round. Albreccht apparently suffered a broken jaw.

April 1, Oslo Norway: In the first professional boxing event in Norway since the fall of 2019 cruiserweights Simen Nysaether (10-0-1) and Swede Samo Jangirov (7-3-1) battled to a split draw after eight rounds. It was scored 77-75 both ways and 76-76. The vacant Baltic Boxing Union title was at stake. This was the second meeting between the two with Nysaether winning the first.

April 1, Santa Marinella, Italy: 45-year old Italian lightweight veteran Emiliano Marsili (41-0-1) won the vacant EU title with split decision over Spaniard Frank Urquiaga (16-3-1). The judges had it 115-112 and 115-113 for Marsili and 115-112 for Urquiaga.

Marsili has over the years been IBO, EBU, and Italian champ and has also held a number of other titles and it looks like there is more coming.

April 1, Frejus, France: French super middle Gustave Tamba (17-1) stopped Italian Dragan Lepei (20-5-2) in the second round to win the vacant EU title. Lepei was heavily floored in the first, survived the round but didn't recover and it was stopped with Tamba pouring it on.

April 1, Fuenlabrada, Spain: Amin Hachimi (9-0) won the vacant Spanish welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Aaron Alhambra (11-1). After ten it was scored 97-93 twice and 98-92.

March 31, Krasnodar, Russia: Heavyweight Shigabudin Aliev (10-0-1) stopped Ruslan Fayfer (27-4-1)  in the sixth of a non-title ten rounder.

March 30, St Julian's, Malta: Swedsh Fight Life Promotions escaped the difficulties with promoting at home by bringing three of its fighters to Malta.

Heavyweight Pezhman Seifkhani moved to 14-0 (only 13-0 at boxrec though) by knocking out Tamaz Zadishvili (7-22-1) in the first round of a mismatch.

Greek, now based in Sweden, heavyweight Marios Kollias (8-2-1) did the same to Geriso Aduashvili (7-9) and lightweight Paolo Magui (2-0) won on points over Malkhasz Tatrishvili (9-19).

The fourth Fight Life fighter on the bill, Niclas Elfstedt (11-1-1) drew with Badri Gogichashvili (9-17-4) over eight. Elfstedt has lived in Malta for a few years.

The fight between Osleys Iglesias and Isaac Chilemba might now go ahead on May 21. Iglesias has signed a 5-year contract with Polish Polsat Boxing Promotions. At stake is the vacant IBO super middle title.

Italian super welterweight Marco Papasidero (10-2-4) defends the national title against Orlando Fiordigiglio (34-3) on April 29 on an OPI since 82 promotion.

Fiordigiglio has challenged twice for the EBU title but came up short both times.
