Nykoping, Sweden -  Light heavyweight contender and local hero Erik Skoglund (24-0) outsored American Derek Edwards (27-6-1) over ten in the headliner. Edwards pressed the action but was tied up on the inside and Skoglund was quicker in getting of scoring with an effective right hook. Edwards had a good third round and was even better in the sixth when his connected with his right. There were too much holding and wrestling on the inside in most of the rounds though. It was scored 100-90, 99-92 and 99-91 - scoring that was a bit generous to Skoglund but he was a clear and deserved winner.

"I couldn´t find my range, he smothered me on the inside," said Edwards when interviewed in the ring afterwards.

Super lightweight Anthony Yigit (16-0-1) and DeMarcus Corley (42-25-1) put up a very good fight for three rounds but then Corley retired and didn´t come out for the fourth. As to why, well, Corley stated that the timing wasn´t there, he saw the punches coming but couldn´t do anything about them and thus retired. Yigit was ahead 30-37 on two cards and 29-28. The official time was 0.01 into the fourth.

It was an exellent fight while it lasted in this all-southpaw clash with Yigit the agressor while Corley covered up and slipped punches well and scored with good counters. Corley was especially sharp in the second but faded a bit in the third and then came the disappointing retirement.

Heavyweight Otto Wallin (14-0)had a tough and frustrating fight against Samir Kurtagic (12-8). Wallin won every round of their six-rounder but it was a messy fight with few clean punches. Wallin was visible upset by his opponent´s spoiling tactics and headbutted him in the sixth. Kurtagic had a point deducted later in the rounds for holding. It was scored 60-53 on all cards.

The Golden Boy is back! After losing to Bernard Donfack this past spring there were a lot of question marks around super middleweight Oscar Ahlin (13-1) but he answered most of them by knocking out Russian Varazdat Chernikov (10-4) with a devastating left hook at 13.4 of the first round. Chernikov attacked and looked dangerous and Ahlin avoided a big right hook and then countered with a left hook. Chernikov went down on his back and during the count the towel came in - and it would have been ten and out anywa. It was scheduled for eight.

Norwegian light heavyweight Alexander Hagen (9-1) outscored George Kandelaki over four. Hagen walked into some counters but outworked his opponent for a win on scores of 40-36 twice and 40-37.

Light heavyweight Sven Fornling (9-0) again looked good and outscored Georgian journeyman Gari Abiyan (29-23-1) over four winning every round. This fight should have been over a longer distance but in Sweden 12 minutes is the max distance the commission have a general permission to allow. For longer distance they need special permission from the Martial Arts Delegation.

Female supe rlightweight Patricia Berghult turned pro with a unanimous decision over Serbian Sara Marjanovic, (1-1) over four two minute rounds. It was scored 40-36 on all cards after four messy rounds with few clean punches with Berghult dominating. Marjanovic fought with a an almost closed right eye for three rounds.

Sauerland Promotion´s show at the Roslund Hall opened with comebacking supewelter Daniel Hartvig (6-0). Hartvig knocked out Hungarian Gyorgy Varga (6-5) 2.40 into the second. Daniel received a special award after a show in 2007. He wasn´t named the best fighter on the show but the toughest - and tough he is but also a bit too easy to hit.
