StubHub Center, Carson, California - In a battle of unbeaten heavyweights, Dominic Breazeale stopped Yasmany Consuegra in the third round.
Consuegra (17-1, 14 KOs) landed multiple rights to the head and body of Breazeale, stunning him on two occasions in the first round. Consuegra did well in the second round until Breazeale dropped him moments before the end of the round, courtesy of a right hand to the head.
Breazeale (15-0, 14 KOs) started strong in the third, hurting Consuegra with a right to the head, and a big uppercut that dropped him again and this time the Cuban fighter was hurt bad. Moments later, Breazeale landed a lead right cross, dropping Consuegra a second time in the round and he was staggering to get up on shaky legs. Referee Wayne Hedgpeth saw enough and waved the fight over at 1:49.
