Kissimmee, FL - Like home. This is how the undefeated Puerto Rican prospects, Christopher 'Pitufo' Díaz and Jean Carlos 'Chapito' Rivera will feel - in separate bouts - as part of the the 'Solo Boxeo' card to be presented by Top Rank in association with All Star Boxing.
The card takes place on Friday, April 21, at the Osceola Heritage Park in the Floridian city dubbed 'Little Puerto Rico'.
Diaz (20-0, 12 KO's) of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, will risk his undefeated record against experienced Aztec fighter Sergio López (20-13-1-1, 13 KO's), from Ensenada, Mexico, in a bout over eight rounds that will be held in featherweight and will be the main event of the 'Solo Boxeo' feature to be televised at 11 pm ET / PT by UniMás and Univision Sports Network.
"I'm ready to return to Kissimmee and give a lot of affection to my fans who have always supported me. I'm going to fight with lots of action," said the always entertaining Diaz.
"I feel at home when I fight in Kissimmee. I am very grateful for that support and I hope to give you another victory that will bring me closer to my dream of helping my family and giving my daughter everything she needs."
In the fight that will open up the television broadcast, 'Chapito' Rivera (10-0, 6 KO's), born Puerto Rican and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, but now residing in Orlando, Florida, will clash with Jesús Pacheco (7- 5, 1 KO), of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in an eight-round featherweight bout.
"I feel very happy for this opportunity to return to the ring in Kissimmee where I have always been given the Puerto Rican support," Rivera said. "On April 21 you can expect the best of 'Chapito'. I am working hard at the gym and I can guarantee that I will be prepared for what is coming."
The April 21 undercard will also mark the professional debut of former Puerto Rican Olympian Jeyvier Cintrón of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Cintron, who is coached by former world boxing champion and Cuban boxing legend Ivan Calderon, has been the only boxing fighter to represent 'The Island of Charm' at two Olympic Games and Rio in 2016.
In addition, Rio 2016's ex-Olympians Teofimo López (3-0, 3 KO's) and Antonio Vargas (1-0, 1 KO's) will be in action on the undercard. Similarly, the respected Puerto Rican prospect Henry 'Moncho' Lebrón, (1-0, 1 KO) will also see action in the evening.
