Welterweight contender Carson Jones (34-9-2, 24KOs) is deep in his training camp for his December 8th showdown against Lee Purdy (19-3-1, 12KOs).  Jones lost a close decision to Kell Brook in his most recent fight which also took place in Britain. Many observers felt the fight could have went either way. Jones said that he won't make the same mistake in his return engagement to the UK. Jones doesn't plan on the fight against Purdy going the distance.

"I should have got going earlier in the fight against Brook. People said that Brook had a stamina problem but I think he had a Carson Jones problem. I broke his nose but I got started too late in the fight.  I don't see the fight versus Purdy going more than 6 rounds," Jones stated.

Jones said that he enjoys fighting in the UK and said that he has been received well by the UK fans.  He said he wouldn't mind fighting in the UK on a regular basis.

"The fans were great. They have supported me real well. I'm focused on Purdy but if they want to talk about more fights out there afterwards I would listen. The fans in the UK have been real good," Jones told BoxingScene.
