Kell Brook and Mark DeLuca did their job at the scale ahead of their regional title fight in the ring.

Both boxers easily made weight for the 12-round junior middleweight clash, which serves as the main event of a nine-fight bill Saturday evening at Sheffield Arena in Brook’s hometown of Sheffield, England.

Brook (38-2, 26KOs) checked in at a shredded 153¾ pounds, nearly four pounds heavier than his last fight when the former welterweight titlist officially weighing pounds for a 10-round win over Michael Zerefa in this very venue 14 months ago. DeLuca (24-1, 13KOs) tipped the scales at a rock-solid 152¾ pounds for his first career bout outside of The Americas.

A two-fight win streak accompanies Brook’s return to the ring since his aforementioned December 2018 win over Zerafa. Both have taken place in the 154-pound division following back-to-back stoppage losses to Gennadiy Golovkin—in a failed middleweight title bid—and Errol Spence Jr., the latter which ended his near three-year welterweight title reign.

In the evening’s chief support, Yorkshire’s Terri Harper welcomes the challenge of Eva Walhstrom in their two-belt junior lightweight title fight, which is scheduled for 10 rounds. Finland’s Wahlstrom (23-1-2, 3KOs) weighed 129.4 pounds in looking to make the sixth defense of the World Boxing Council (WBC). Her lone career defeat came at the hands of 2012 Olympic Gold medalist and unbeaten two-division titlist Katie Taylor. Harper (9-0, 5KOs) weighed 129.7 pounds in her pursuit of a major title, while putting at risk her International Boxing Organization (IBO) 130 pound title.

Also on the show is an intriguing featherweight clash with major title fight implications. Local favorite Kid Galahad (26-1, 15KOs) takes on former interim featherweight titlist Claudio ‘The Matrix’ Marrero (24-3, 17KOs) in a final eliminator, with the winner to become the mandatory challenger to Warrington’s version of the featherweight title.

Sheffield’s own Galahad weighed in at 125.2 pounds for his return to the ring, which comes eight months after falling just short in a 12-round decision defeat to countryman and unbeaten featherweight titlist Josh Warrington last June. Dominican Republic’s Marrero arrived at a ripped and ready 125.7 pounds for his first career fight abroad.

Doncaster’s David Allen looks to return to the win column as he faces Wales’ Dorian Darch (12-11-1, 1KO) in a scheduled six-round heavyweight clash. Allen checked in 262.8 pounds—including a black leather jacket which he wore on the scale and seemingly everywhere else—for his first fight since a 10th round stoppage loss to countryman David Price last July. Darch 238.4 pounds in hopes of busting up his eight-fight winless streak.

The show airs live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and DAZN in the United States.
