Las Vegas, NV Later this evening, Sharif Bogere and Francisco Contreras square off in a battle of unbeaten lightweights, in a bout that airs live from the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas on Showtime’s “Shobox: The New Generation” series.

Cameron Krael (0-0-1) and Taylor Larson (0-1-1) battled to a majority draw in a junior welterweight match between local pro debuters, the last (and only second) bout before the cameras begin rolling for the televised portion of the card.

Both fighters had good local fan support. Krael had the height and reach advantage and landed the harder shots but Larson was able to bully his way in and land more consistently.  Scores were 39-37 for Larson and 38-38 twice.

The opening bout of the evening was a junior welterweight bout between Ronald Rodriguez (1-1) and Alonso Loeza (0-2-1), with Rodriguez scoring a third round knockout in a wild bout that saw both men hit the canvas.

The action started fast as both fighters fought at a furious pace.  Loeza came up big in the second round, as Rodriguez was sent to the canvas hard but was able to beat the count. The action continued in the third round until Rodriguez landed a heavy left hand that spent Loeza to the canvas. Loeza barely beat the 10-count, but referee Russell Mora saw his wobbly legs and correctly waved the fight off at 0:31 of round three.
