SILVERDOME, PONTIAC, MICHIGAN - In an entertaining heavyweight battle, Bermane "B-Ware" Stiverne (20-1, 19KOs) picked up the vacant WBC International, WBC/USNBC and WBA Fedelatin heavyweight belts when he knocked out previously undefeated Kerston Manswell (20-1, 15KOs) with a vicious left uppercut at the 1:52 mark of the second round.
Stiverne should make a big jump in the WBC and WBA's rankings next month. Stiverne, who is from Haiti and now fights out of Las Vegas, displayed a crisp left jab in the first round. He flashed the same jab to begin the second round and then landed a left hook and followed it up with an overhand right that sent Manswell to the canvas. Manswell, despite being on shaky legs was allowed to continue. Back to back left uppercuts put Manswell to sleep to end the fight.
