Former featherweight champion Jonathan Barros (34-2-1, 18KOs) is having flasbacks of his 2010 bout with Yuriorkis Gamboa, when the Argentine boxer flew over to Germany to challenge the Olympic gold medal winner for the WBA championship.

This Saturday he steps in the ring at the Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo in Puebla, Mexico to challenge IBF super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado (25-1-1, 16KOs).

"This reminds me of when I traveled to fight Gamboa," Barros said.

He lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Gamboa. This time he wants to leave with a differnt outcome. Barros admits the super featherweight limit is not his natural weight division, but he's very happy that he landed this championship opportunity and he plans to make the best of it.

"I watched his fights on the internet. I have a lot more experience. I've faced the better fighters, like Gamboa and Celestino Caballero. I am ready to gamble everything to win. I'm going to box and if I can't do that then I'll fight. I'm going to do everything to win the world title. We'll see in the ring if he's willing to throw or receive," Barros said.
