WBA interim welterweight champion David Avanesyan (21-1-1) is very confident heading into his fight against Shane Mosley (49-9-1). The fight takes place Saturday night at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. and will be broadcast by CBS Sports.
The Russia native said that he is excited to face the ring legend, who is trained by another legend in Roberto Duran, but is confident that he will come out with the victory. He said that he can adapt to any style.
"I am very happy for this fight. I can box coming forward or going backward. I'm not going to give away my plan but I can counteract any style he brings to the ring," Avanesyan told krikya360.com.
The WBA recently stated that the winner of this fight would have to face the winner of the June 25th battle between WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter.
Avanesyan says he is focused on Mosley but believes Thurman will be too much for Porter.
"I think Thurman will win that fight but it is a close fight. I can't say too much because I am focused on my fight," revealed Avanesyan.
