Oldenburg, Germany - In a battle for the WBO Inter-Continental super middleweight championship, Arthur Abraham (38-4, 28KOs) scored a lopsided decision over twelve rounds against Giovanni De Carolis (20-4, 10KOs) of Italy. The scores were 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109. Abraham won the rounds, but his game appeared to be a bit off as there were issues dealing with the movement of De Carolis.

Golden Jack Culcay, 15-1, regained the WBA I/C jr middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Madrid-based Argentinian Guido Nicolas Pitto, 18-2. Culcay lost the first fight by posing too much but this made sure outwork his opponent for a win on scores 115-113 twice and 117-112. I had it 116-112 for Culcay after a fast-paced, good fight. Culcay was just a little too quick and worked harder than Pitto grabbing an early lead. Pitto had his moments too and was always in the fight but Culcay had that little extra and was a deserved winner in a fight that put his career back on track. Culcay avenges his April twelve round decision loss to Pitto.

Austrian middleweight Marcos Nader, 19-0-1, retained the EBU-EU title when Spanish challenger Luis Crespo, 9-7, retired and didn´t come out for the seventh round. Nader had won all the completed rounds clearly but couldn´t hurt Crespo, an awkward, durable, tricky southpaw. However, Crespo appeared to have problems using his left and it was apparently due to problems with the left shoulder that he retired.

US-based Ukrainan Anatoliy Dudchenko, 19-2, won a unanimous decision over German Robert Woge, 12-1, to win the vacant IBF I/C light heavyweight title. It was scored 117-110, 115-112 and 117-111. Woge was down in the seventh and hurt in the two final rounds and also suffered a badly swollen right ear that burst open in the final round.

It was one hell of a fight, hardfought all the way. There are many fighters better than Woge but few, if any, can match him on workrate and willpower and that won some rounds but overall Dudchenko was too sharp for him.

Super middleweight Tyron Zeuge, 10-0 (5), outscored survival-minded Achilles Szabo, 11-4, over eight. Szabo was stunned by a right in the final round and went down but got up and survived. Zeuge kept a steady pace and won every round. The scoring referee had it 80-71.

Light heavyweight Enrico Koelling, 10 (3), knocked out soft chinned Hungarian Gyorgi Marosi, 19-11, at 1.50 of the third of a scheduled eight-rounder. Koelling has a busy swarming style and while he is not a puncher his high workrate gives his opponents trouble.

Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin, 3-0 (3), with an easy third round TKO win over outclassed Hungarian Gabor Farkas, who finished with a badly swollen left eye. Farkas, 6-28-6, was second best throughout as Wallin, with Joey Gamache in the corner, poured it on after a slow start.
