Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has beaten more than a handful of British fighters over the years - including former world champion Amir Khan and Liam Smith.

On Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden, Canelo will move up to the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds to challenge WBA "regular" super middleweight champion Rocky Fielding.

Back in May of 2016, Khan was brutally knocked out in six rounds by Canelo.

Khan was boxing well in the fight and many ringside observers had him ahead on points when the contest came to end - as Canelo landed a single huge shot to put him down for well beyond the full count.

And while Khan is fully backing Fielding in his heart, he doesn't give him any shot of upsetting the odds - despite holding advantages in height, reach and weight.

"I like Rocky, he's a brilliant guy but I've been in with Canelo and I just can't give Rocky a chance," said Khan to Sky Sports.

"Canelo is a beast. The way he beat Triple G, I just think no-one can stop him. Even if Mayweather came back and took a rematch with him, I think he would beat Mayweather.

"Canelo has matured as a fighter and is a better fighter than when I fought him. He is a great fighter now. I am a mobile fighter so it obviously suited me but eventually he found his range and caught me with a good shot. He was working out how to stop me and break me down, and obviously I was beating him on points, but maybe he was just waiting for that one big shot. He might not do the same up at super middleweight and I hope Rocky can do it, I really do, but I just can't see how."
