I was very technical with the buttons, and the few people who could beat me, all used the sticks, honestly getting good with the sticks will beat a button player, especially in round 3 with the parry and the haymaker, (remember us button pushers had to switch the the stick to parry and haymaker, it took us an extra second or two to set that up) most people complaining about button mashing just weren't ready to play online, online competition in FNR3 was 1000xs tougher than the computer or playing with your inexperienced friend, and the blazing speed of an online player compared to the slow calculated punching of a computer player, made alot of players think that it must be button mashing.
But the truely funny thing about this, is that because i'm not that skilled with the analog stick (not yet anyway) i revert to stick mashing and its the same as button mashing, (to the T)
Options should have been added, and if it was a big deal to people online they just needed to divisions, a STick champ and a Button Champ.
But seriously the button vs stick argument is made by people who just weren't up to par with the other competition online, it shocked me when i first went online, but as i accumulated more experience and realised that online fighters fight better and differently then the ****** AI on FNR3 i realised that it wasn't a flaw in the controls, it was a flaw in the player
