    Heavybag cooldown

This is a couple rounds on the bag after a few hours in the gym doing some power shots.

    I've been boxing for 4 months, I'm 156lb and 6'0.

I look forward to getting better!

Much better than the last vid. i cant really tell you much if thats a cool down period, since your just going through some motion shots after a long session, because i see places you can dig into the bag more and plant your feet better, they are too far apart in some shots ( like throwing flurries from the outside)you do this @ 25 second mark and in some places you are to narrow...,this could be the wax floor? I know i pulled a groin or two on those floors. you should really throw a type of surface/mat down around there if you can for traction.the gym i go to has a rubber surface which is far better.

@1:13 your lead foot is pointing inward...point toes slightly out or keep straight but dont point the foot inward as the punch is thrown because you will get more torque on the hook and be able to twist into it more using your core if you dont do that...go in the mirror and point you leading foot inward and twist in punching motion...then point it slighly out and do the same. you will see what im talking about. you are using this stance alot...try what i said. The back leg is very important for torque in a southpaw style throwing power left hands you are not using it, you NEED to point the back foot towards the punch off the ball .

Now your back foot is like sideways...you need to drive with the back foot/toes and back leg into the punch...the front leg is more balance when throwing the left hook southpaw stance.... your back toes need to go into the direction of the punch (not stay sideways) your limiting the punch motion ,if you correct the feet you wont be as wide either and have better balance along with power.

When closer to the bag don't be so narrow, square up more planting both feet down driving through the bag..the southpaw narrow stance is good it will let you throw that sneaky straight left or left hook from the outside,in the vid you saw of me from the other side i am parrying with the right hand and coming over with the left hook on the other side of the bag.

The swivel on top of your bag would drive me crazy,it makes the bag bounce,so your shots arent going to be as solid with less dead weight...this is what i was telling you about less chain as well. One good thing is you can move around more and a moving HB acts as more moving opponent but it effects other things.

We have a similar style of switching it up,this is good bc it will confuse your opponents, im not southpaw but it helps set up other things and keeps opponents from guessing which direction they have look for.

work on your lead right hook...i throw them doubles and triples because they are the hardest shots to see coming against orthodox fighters. They should be nearly impossible to block if you throw them fast and hard.work on double body shots as well.most only expect one.

Thanks man I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah I still have a long way to go in refining my balance and punch technique. I hope that things keep getting more fluid with experience.

Your suggestions def make a lot of sense and sound like they could help with my technique, I'm going to try and keep them in mind. I'll try to have updates with progress when I can. I hope next time I'll get some footage earlier in the workout.

        Great Work Rez!

You did a really good job at keeping your hands up, good technique, and good punch output even though it was the end of your workout. I can tell you got some power on you and it comes from your technique, cong**** on that! Only thing I really saw that needs attention was your weight a little too far forward when throwing jabs.

Other then that nice work, keep it up champ!

          Good lookin out Dago.

Too much weight on the front foot has been something I've been working on, and I still need to keep working on. You're spot on.

          I appreciate it champ!
