    Wrist been hurting since April?

This gonna sound nuts but hear me out. I was doing upper cuts on the heavy bag, and I did them with bad form since I've had pain ever since. It's nowhere near as bad anymore, but I would take weeks/months off and once I'd feel like my left wrist was good enough I'd go back on the bag, but I still get a lingering pain. It's not painful, but it's not exactly a great feeling either. It doesn't seem like anything is broken, so do I just continue to take time off? Guess I can just do shadowbox and footwork in the meanwhile

Has a doctor taken a look?

    Tried wrist wraps?

I strained my wrists doing human wheelbarrows with my trainer.

Thats a good 3 to 4 months out.

About the same amount of time before mine felt no sharp pains without wraps.

Wrap your wrist better and use boxing gloves designed for heavy bag.

How do you land an uppercut on a standard heavy bag? Throw it, but keep it in a shadow boxing type of scenario, not hitting the bag and then continue your combo.

Yeah throw the uppercut to graze the bag. Every other punch you throw will be landing on the bag so you will get enough resistance in the workout. They have those large tear drop style bags that you can uppercut, but the you can’t go low to the body. I think the uppercut is a great punch and I’m glad it’s coming back ( Thanks to fighters like Canelo and AJ ) But it’s a punch that is mostly used once you’ve landed all your others and you get a guy protecting his sides up or down. People should remember that an uppercut is ideal once a guy is leaning forward or bending so grazing the bag if still quite accurate.

You're wrapping your wrist wrong, or throwing the punch wrong, or both. Stop it.

I'm experiencing the same thing except I think it's ligament damage and it feels like it will never heal. Hard to explain how it happened but it got tweaked and pulled really hard and then I probably aggravated it in a similar way by throwing a poor uppercut and neglecting proper handwraps. I have a teardrop style aqua bag I made myself but no real training so I probably hit it at a really bad angle. I have wraps but usually, just do a few rounds to release anger while the kids are occupied and usually don't have time to do the full wraps. I mean it doesn't really take that long but still... Anyway, I'm paying for it now. Feels like it's slowly getting better but any pressure on it from certain angles still feels brutal sometimes.
