And it ain't my fault you started ******. Your backstory and many of your posts read like an Ippo cartoon gone awry, you write about your gf like you're still 12 years old, and some of your training suggestions are patently ridiculous. Canoeing FTW.
Put your money where your mouse is. Post some vids or at least some stills.
I'm not hatin', I'm just trying to separate the men from the boys around here.
Man, this place needs a mod.
Of course this guy does not need to post vids because he has none. But he boxes yeah
p4p you should respect Cotto...any true student of the sport would have respect for that guy, unless you're a ****** kid of course. I got vids but they're from back then, I want to post new stuff, because of all the new tools I've acquired since then..
do you have any vids?
edit, nevermind, you're 16 ...lol, you'll mature with age, sonnyboy...all in due time.
also...nothing is wrong with canoeing, don't rip on **** you haven't done. It is effective for boxing if you do it right. Paddling against a strong current is no joke. I'm done arguing with you in this thread though, sorry to say. Arguing with a man full of regret (you) is like pissing in the wind...but at least boxing gave you that one picture with your scary face and black eye, right?
Later, and stop being so damn bitter. Life's too short for that ****. You're 38, that means you only have about 30 years left until you're a limp noodle. I suggest you enjoy it in peace.
Actually, I build boats, and I row a few times a week, 7-8 miles, in a 14' Whitehall. It's great for the back, hams, grip, and flexibility. But the post you made with the canoeing story was silly. Seriously. It has no place in a boxing training forum. And what's with all the writing about your gf? This is training. "Women weaken legs," as the man says.
Boxing has given me a few trophies, a few lifelong friends, and some serious self-realization that, I'll admit, came too late in my life for my liking. But I'm far from bitter. Better late than never.
I think you're just worried now that you're being called on the carpet.
fraidy you're a smart dude and a badass but your reaction to the comments about the guy's girlfriends sounded a little like jealousy. The stuff the guy wrote was a little weird but your reaction was weirder.
I think that whenever someone who hasn't even had a match yet starts posting in the Training forum that he's "Going to make history," I get my Irish up.
If you haven't had a match yet, you have NO IDEA how Goddamn hard this sport actually is.
- If you haven't lived on chicken soup and black coffee for a week before a fight;
- If you haven't sc****d yourself off the canvas spitting blood through your mouthpiece while a room full of strangers cheered on the guy who just flattened you;
- If you haven't taken a shot that you swore was going to end your life (left hook to the liver, anyone?) and kept fighting anyway;
- If you've never been so scared before a match that you threw up enough to nearly miss your weight class;
- If you've never lost a fight you swore you won;
- If you've never won a fight you swore you lost;
- If you still don't know what I mean by "electric purple cheetos"
- If your doctor hasn't voiced concern because there's still blood in your urine three days after a fight that you WON (happened after my avy pic, BTW), or had a similar experience with a medical professional after a match that you WON. . .
. . . then you are a noob in this sport, and you know less than ****. No matter how many street fights you've allegedly been in, no matter where you train, and no matter what kind of martial arts you did as a kid, you have not boxed. And you sure as hell have no place spouting off that you are gonna "make history." Not here.
So shut up and go to the gym. You've got work to do.

Frankly, I didn't read it; I just bleeped over it. It's like bad **** or something. It makes me wonder if he's still in high school. Or junior high. It's weird and it has no place on a training board.

welcome back fraidy, i missed u bro
Thanks, man. Been out for awhile. Got in that wreck last year and ended up having neck surgery twice. Been working as a striking coach at an MMA gym while healing up but I'm getting back into the game, now. I hope to be ready for GG in 2010.
This ****in' place have a mod yet? Every other thread is like the Spawn of Zelenoff.

no, things have really gone to hell while u were gone, we need to whip these kids into shape
I have seen so many smart-mouthed dumb-assed punks come into either my old boxing gym, or the MMA gym where I teach, sounding just like some of the guys on this board. And 90% of them, when they come in sounding like this, train like crap, never do roadwork, but talk **** about being the greatest in the world. And then eventually they get hit or slammed down ONCE and never come back.
They see it on TV and think that it's easy. This ain't karaoke. There is no bench, there are no trophies for participation. This is full-contact and if you're not in there doing it, you keep your mouth shut and take notes.
