The 24-year old former interim titlist from Karlsruhe, Germany was undersized and significantly outgunned in his super middleweight title bid versus Caleb Plant, who delivered a showcase performance at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, less than 45 minutes from his Ashland City, Tennessee hometown. I agree he would be harder to handle at middleweight but any slick boxer with just a little pop will beat him easy.

He looked noticeably smaller than plant. Kids obviously got a punch and he is obviously strong and takes a decent shot as he didn’t go down. Th e real problem in his career is the lack of amateur pedigree....having no amateur background at all is tough. Best thing he could do is move to the USA and find a world class trainer.....he’s not Maske, he’s not Ottke...he needs a trainer who’s going to maximise an in fighter style

If he goes back to fighting nobodies in Germany like he was doing before Saturday night he would fare better as well. Can't see him beating anyone of note at middleweight, although Sauerland will somehow get him a vacant title shot in Germany against a clubfighter, just like they did against De Carolis at 168

I saw Fiegenbutz a few times on the TV years ago and it was obvious he was far better than average. He looked really good for pretty much a young kid starting out and had decent power and whiskers.

As a few have remarked though, being protected in Germany won't help him develop and I've read he's been gifted wins already. Some of these guys need to pack the bags and head to the US and get some real work in.
