I don't really think it is, it's maybe a bit blunt in it's title, but i don't think the author is racist. Surely we can talk about these things without crying racist all the time. I'm suprised at Anorak for making the thread, but there is no bad intentions behind it IMO.

Most of the people calling black men "*****s" are other black men. If it's legitimized by black culture why get upset when the main stream uses words like Uncle Tom and the like? Interesting note* 1/3 of all copies of UNcle Tom's Cabin were sold in Europe.

Because all these "kool" words that black culture has come up with were meant as a form to stand up against white people.

By the way, for any of you that don't know, Lennox Lewis called Frank Bruno an uncle tom. I think that may have been the reason Bruno was so fired up for their fight.

It's pretty obvious Taylor is just a down-to-earth guy, and is respectful towards all except in the ring, where he carries a chip on his shoulder from being picked on so much in his childhood.

Taylor is very nice, and polite...I guess people are so unaccustomed to seeing that, so they wonder if Taylor is an 'Uncle Tom'.

            Now you know better.

No offence, S_L, cos I do like you, but you're just a young kid who's the very epitome of naive (you actually think Roy Jones had a competitive career!) and are not in a position to be giving me a lecture. You're a cool guy, but you're kind of like a three-legged dog with dysentry. Sometimes you're funny, other times you hobble into threads dragging **** behind you.

Maybe, maybe not. But, the point can be made and that's what Anorak has done. Love or hate it.
ToyBoy, you're one of the few talking sense on here. I'm surprised no one's accused you of being my alt yet.

Love those knee-jerks reactions, they keep pilin' on up, don't they?

Some people throw words around too easily. (ummm... yeah... like me saying "Uncle Tom", I know it).

The word "******" was not originally a derogatory word. It was screwed up from the French word Negre by white settlers. The word Negro is Latin for the color black. ****** only became bad when the negro race was associated with being dumb, lazy and unclean by racist whites of the time. Now it's meaning has changed to mean somthing of affection from one person to another. Even other ethnicities are calling each other, "My *****".

The kid's okay by me, but anyone who posts stuff like "Roy Jones had a chin that was made from a construction girder"* has to be taken with a mountainful of salt.

                      * He never actually said that, I'm making it up now. But he probably thinks it.
