Comments Thread For: Murray Dares Froch; Nicola Adams Update; Alex Arthur

The original estimate for attendance was 150 people but the response from the local community shocked Arthurs Gym and there were 300 people through the doors by the end of the night.

Arthur said: The turn-out was fantastic, it was twice the size we expected. The whole point of it was to give the boxers a chance to fight in front of their families, friends and fans because a lot of them didnt have that chance before.

This was the last show of the season, normally shows tailor off at this point in the calendar but demand was high for this. So, were thinking of doing another one when the next season gets started in September.?[Click Here To Read More]

Murray deserves this more than DeGale,Groves and Cleverly.its a perfect fight Groves as mandatory for IBF is laughable,Froch should vacate and give the fans a fight that'll be competitive.Groves is a nobody.

I think Froch will respect Murray's claim to the fight more than Groves.

The guy went to Argentina and beat Martinez in his backyard dropping him twice, went to Germany and drew with Sturm.

You seem to bring this up every other post, not even Murray himself thought he beat Sergio in the post-fight interview. Also, the first knockdown was a trip and the second (which wasn't called) was a hit behind the head; not only that, Sergio didn't look hurt either time. Murray gave away too many rounds in the first half of the fight by hiding in a shell and then gave up the championship rounds for no apparent reason. I think if he had been more confident in himself and pressed early he could have got the decision considering Sergio went in there with an injured knee and broken carpals.

2 knockdowns, only one called. Sergio got the decision as the home fighter but most on here who watched it scored it to Murray including the neutral US fans.

Sergio injured okay, do you think he wins a rematch in the UK? no, nor do I.

Either way, Murray is a more reputable challenger to Froch than Groves.

Most people on here actually thought Martinez won, but it was a close fight, a healthy/fit Martinez would have won a 116-112/117-111 type decision or stopped Murray similar to how he stopped Barker. I watched the fight a few times and thought it could be scored 114-113 or 115-112 (as the judges had it).

As far as Froch v. Murray, I would rather watch Froch fight Bika for the WBC belt. Bika would make it a rough fight for the full 12 rounds, Murray would just shell up. My only complain with a Kessler III is that we've seen it before and I'm pretty sure it will turn out the same as the second fight (although Froch could win it just a little wider this time or maybe even stop Mikkel if he's shot enough).

Not how I remembered the comments post-fight, but the votes are the votes I guess.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Bika fight, worth watching for sure. Bafana Bafana are the SA football team, you hail from down there?

Murray isn't a big enough name, even in the UK, to interest Froch right now which is a shame because he should be the Middleweight Champion.

He should stay at MW and look for another title shot. Maybe Barker if he can beat Geale. That's a more realistic domestic fight for him.

Froch-Murray could be good, but Froch is likely too strong
prefer Murray to stay at MW and hound Martinez for a rematch
they ripped him off and he's entitled to another shot
Murray would be better than Groves vs Froch though, so it's ok
hopefully, Froch takes another crowd pleaser and forgets Ward 2
