Whats with the Lucian Bute hype? I dont get it at all.

its a little bit of hype. i just think it has more to do with his attributes as a fighter. hes skilled, crafty, good footwork and can ****.
i dont think hes the best in the division though.
hes fighting guys that are somewhat dangerous, but are just below contender status and are relatively unskilled.
theres a distinct pattern in his opposition: bika, berrio, andrade, zuniga, miranda

It's the fact he knocked out Andrade, although I think there was controversy in their first fight.

Either way, he's a decent fighter but until he's fought a fighter in the Super 6, he's an unknown quantity.

I agree hes a decent fighter. I need to see him vs. Elite competition and vs. a washed up Miranda wont help his case.

He's a good fighter with really good skills, but I think the hype comes from the way he beat Andrade in the rematch. There was talk about Andrade having a big mental advantage because of the way the first fight ended. Bute put all that to rest with a KO over someone with one of the better chins around. Like was already said, he's still a somewhat unknown commodity until he beats a top fighter though.

Bute can ownly be taken seriously when he moves outta the comfort zone and faces some genuine top ten guys. Andrade is his biggest victory, a rematch after he was almost KOd against him the first time.

I'm not saying Bute is no good, but he's not challenging anyone at championship level, yet.

Yeah, hes a little bit hyped, but hes still a great fighter. I think he can have a competitive fight with anybody in the super 6, beside Ward who I think would beat Bute with ease.
