168 hes been a stalking walk them down style, used to throw more combos but now a lot less. His initial run to collect all the belts was impressive but after that when he stopped getting KOs he had a steep drop. Could even say he hasnt been the same since the Bivol fight.

"154 Canelo" didn't fight The Charlos, Andrade, Hurd, Williams, or 90% of the people who were players at 154 in the mid 2010s

Then, he used "Caneloweight" 155, to avoid fighting GGG, in spite of holding onto the Middleweight belt.

Post GGG II-The Pandemic era (2018-2021) is the best version of Canelo.

The Bivol fight was the beginning of his decline.

I always laughed at the notion Canelo was better at 168. If you watch the Floyd fight, you would see he was a far more dynamic, active and faster fighter. He has been a 1 dimensional slugger since he left 160 but has gotten away with it by fighting sub par opposition. In 2025 he is close to a shot fighter imo. Just needs a good opponent to put it on him, which I think Bud will do.

Canelo didn`t like close fights at 154 and 160 ( GGG) so he decided to move up with the idea that bigger guys would be also slower. It worked perfectly at 168.

But in GGG fights he also understood he had a great chin himself so that was enother reason that encouraged him to move up.

Bivol fight was a mistake. Canelo started to believe in his own hype , together with his crazy fans here that expected him to challenge Usyk.

He never had a chance against Bivol.
