    Cuevas-Hearns. Foreman-Frazier

For those who vividly remember these fights. Who was the favorite? What were your predictions and thoughts before the fights? Thanks.

Frazier was a 3-1 favorite. Hearns was a slight favorite because they were fighting in Detroit. I picked Frazier and Hearns, but I never expected Tommy to win like that.

Beat me to it! I knew the favorites but not the odds.

Thank you Scott and Jab. This is something I was really was curious about and I appreciate that you could answer it.

In Hearns-Cuevas I thought Hearns would win a decision if he could
survive(Seriously). Hearns had some power but I didn't expect that. I figured if there was an early ko, Cuevas would be the winner.

I guess with Frazier-Foreman I couldn't imagine Frazier losing so to me it was more suprising with how it ended.
Funny when you hear about how scared Foreman says he was for that fight. I guess it was a classic example of someone dealing with fear well!

Cuevas was very difficult to hurt and had quite possibly the heaviest fists lb4lb of anyone in history. People look back at how ridiculously easy Hearns rubbed him out and probably can't imagine that anyone thought Cuevas had a shot.

Cuevas was a "one handed fighter" who was easy to hit and the word was if Tommy could stay clear of the left hook and would out box and stop Cuevas.
Most of the younger generation back then thought Frazier was going to win but the insiders knew this was a bad match up for Joe. Joe only fights coming to you and moving into Big George is playing right into his power. Once Joe was hurt and had to back off you saw how he was incapable of backing out or using his legs for escape!
Cuevas was a decent fighter but not a great welter by any stretch! Ray.
