It is hard to pick against Gavilan, given his body of work at this weight. Pacquiao has not put a foot wrong in a number of star turns at WW now, but this is more than simply stepping up another level.
You have to think this turns into a bitter slugfest at some point, & that's not going to favour Pacquiao this time.
I agree with you Marv, Gavilans KO ratio does not indicate his power, he also had an excellent chin, with one of the best offensive arsenals the welterweight division ever saw.
Pacquiao's pretty small at WW and should never really be rated there. Gavilan was extremely unorthodox, I'm not sure how the two styles would match up. Still I think it would go the distance, probably Gavlian by decision.
At welterweight who wins this war? I reckon the Kid stops Pacquiao late.
Again, another great video from reznick8.
Pac-man is too good for this bunch, but if Gavilan was around today, Pacquiao wouldn't even attempt to go up to WW in the first place..... I would predict though, that Gavilan couldn't beat Pacquiao.......................................... Because Pacquiao would not sign a contract with the Kid, he'd be too smart to do so, Gavilan would beat Mayweather too, but we all know that Floyd would never sign to fight Gavilan either.
