Hagler/Hearns.If Hearns didn't break his hand...

I think the whole fight changed dramatically.
Hearns breaks his hand in the 2nd round of the fight.
Hearns ends up being KO'ed in the 3rd.
You have to attribute the loss to the hand breaking.

Otherwise, who knows what would have happend.

Even upto breaking his hand, Hearns hadnt badly hurt Hagler.

Wouldn't have changed the result. As porlie said Hagler was never seriously hurt by Hearns prior to Hearns breaking his hand. He could've maybe lasted longer, but Hagler would've KO'd him anyway.

If he didn't break his hand he would have been KO'd in 6 instead of 3.

It means that no matter how many rights hands he hit Hagler with, he could not stop him. If he didn't break his hand in the second round he would have broke it eventually, because throwing that punch with that much force on such a hard head(Hearns has clearly said that Hagler's head was very hard) so many times spells the fate of his right fist.

No, because his "I'm going to slug all night long" plan was a suicide against hagler.

              Hagler TKO 5.

Hearns actually shook Hagler with the first big right he landed which also was the one that allegedly broke his hand.

I watched the fight live on closed-circuit and it was very apparent at the time that there was something wrong with the Hearns right as he began cuffing with it as opposed to throwing straight and with conviction.

Hearns became basically a one handed fighter which wasn't enough to hold Hagler off.

You have to factor in the anxiety and how it must have negatively affected Hearns. Here Hearns is in the biggest fight of his life against his most dangerous opponent and seconds into it he's reduced to one hand. It was a formality after that.

To me it's a toss up if Hearns hand had not been broken. Remember that Hagler was cut early and had to be checked by the Dr. Maybe with two healthy hands Hearns gets Hagler's respect, slows down his aggression, works a bit more at long range and gets back in the fight or even stops Hagler on cuts.

A rematch would have solved matters but Leonard came back and put an end to Hearns getting another shot at Hagler.

And please no more references to Hagler's head being any harder than anyone else. A skull is a skull. They're all hard.

So you're trying to say noone has better punch resistance than anyone else? If so get off this forum right now, you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Hearns also didn't have his legs working right in that fight, which is why he tried to take out Hagler early and stood to toe-to-toe. Hearns without these factors would be a toss-up possibly.
