The rematch between Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales has reportedly been set for August 1 in Caracas.
Pradabsri won a hugely-controversial decision when they fought on Boxing Day last year, with the WBC ordering an immediate rematch, such was the outcry.
Many had Canizales winning most of the rounds at the Rajadamnern Stadium, in Bangkok, but when the scores were read out the Thai had won a majority decision to improve to 44-2 (27 KOs).
Venezuela’s Canziales, 32, dropped to 27-3-1 (19 KOs).
They had contested the WBC’s vacant light-flyweight title, with the 34-year-old Thai being given the decision by 116-112, 115-113, with a third card 114-114.
Two fights before, Canziales had lost a majority decision to the brilliant Kenshiro Teraji in Osaka, Japan.
