The preliminary undercard is now set for the June 28 Jake Paul-Julio Chavez Jr. DAZN Pay-Per-View event.
Headlining the six-fight prelim lead-in card, Holly Holm, 33-2- (9 KOs) returns from retirement after more than a decade to face unbeaten Yolanda Vega, 10-0 (1 KO) in a scheduled ten-round lightweight contest from Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Joining the former boxing welterweight and UFC bantamweight champ is a healthy mixture of boxers who range from rising prospects to former titlists.
John ‘Scrappy’ Ramirez’, 14-1 (9 KOs) aims for his second win following a loss to David Jimenez in their interim WBA 115lbs title fight last April.
An opponent was not yet confirmed for the 28-year-old East Los Angeles native, who is set to join training and managerial stablemate Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez (no relation) on the show. Mexico’s Ramirez 47-1 (30 KOs) defends his unified WBA/WBO cruiserweight titles against Yuniel Dorticos, 27-2 (25 KOs) in the evening’s chief support.
Rising junior lightweight Victor Morales, 20-0-1 (10 KOs) fights for the first time in 2025. It will come against former WBA 130lbs titlist Rene Alvarado, 34-16 (22 KOs) in a ten-round junior lightweight crossroads bout. Morales – a 27-year-old budding contender from Vancouver, Washington - first broke through with an April 2023 stoppage win over Diego De La Hoya.
Promising welterweight Joel Iriarte, 7-0 (7 KOs) aims to continue his perfect knockout-to-win run as a pro. The 22-year-old from Bakersfield, California will meet Tanzania’s Yusuph Metu, 11-2 (8 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round contest.
Iriarte has yet to be extended beyond the second round since his pro debut last March.
Ramirez, Morales and Iriarte are all with Golden Boy Promotions, who co-promotes the event along with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).
“We’re proud to have partnered with MVP to put together a stellar preliminary undercard that lives up to the elite-level pay-per-view,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “This lineup is stacked with some of the sport’s hottest rising stars—fighters who I believe have what it takes to become the next big names in boxing.
“From start to finish, fans are in for an unforgettable night.”
Also on the undercard, Long Beach’s Alexander Gueche, 7-0 (5 KOs) gets an opportunity to increase his local fan base.
The 19-year-old bantamweight prospect aims for his second win of the year. He is matched aggressively against former amateur standout Vincent Avina, 8-1-1 (7 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round bantamweight scrap.
As previously announced, Naomy Valle, 14-0 (9 KOs) will also appear on the preliminary undercard. The 20-year-old Costa Rican junior flyweight will face Ashley Felix, 7-3 (1 KO), scheduled for six, three-minute rounds.
Valle hails from a boxing family. Her older sister is Yokasta Valle, 33-3 (10 KOs), a three-division titlist who currently holds the WBC strawweight title. The younger Valle signed with MVP in March and is set to make her company debut on this show.
“MVP is proud to deliver one of the most stacked preliminary cards in recent memory, featuring a mix of rising stars, world-class talent, and champion pedigree,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “From top-tier prospects like MVP’s own Alexander Gueche, and Joel Iriarte to proven names like #1 WBA contender John ‘Scrappy’ Ramirez and Victor Morales Jr., Saturday, June 28 promises nonstop action from the opening bell.
“With Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. headlining, this event is a true global boxing spectacle, and it all starts with a world-class undercard.”
