Curmel Moton will get another home game.
The prodigious 18-year-old lightweight is confirmed to appear atop the non-televised portion of the Caleb Plant-Armando Resendiz undercard this Saturday. Moton, 7-0 (6 KOs) will face Renny Viamonte, 4-1-1 (2 KO) in an eight-round battle preceding the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Prime Video quadrupleheader this Saturday from Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This weekend will mark the second straight appearance in Vegas for the locally-based Moton and fifth overall in his adopted hometown. The Mayweather Promotions product – originally from Salt Lake City, Utah – earned a third-round knockout of Frank Zaldivar on the February 1 undercard of the David Benavidez-David Morrell light heavyweight clash at T-Mobile Arena.
Moton’s first three bouts took place in Las Vegas, beginning with his September 2023 pro debut at T-Mobile Arena when he scored a first round knockout. He enjoyed just as brief a night two months later at Michelob ULTRA Arena – his lone other appearance at this venue prior to Saturday.
He also fought at T-Mobile Arena in an entertaining, eight-round decision win over Anthony Cuba. Their bout aired live on Prime Video, PBC’s first show on the platform last March 30.
The win over Cuba was Moton’s lone career fight to go to the scorecards. He enters this weekend riding a four-fight knockout streak.
Viamonte – a Cuban export also based in Vegas - rebounded from a two-fight winless streak with a six-round, unanimous decision over Hebreux Francois. The February 22 bout took place at Westgate Hotel & Casino, Viamonte’s first career fight in his adopted hometown.
The step up in class versus Moton will also mark the 28-year-old’s first scheduled eight-round affair.
Moton-Viamonte is one of seven bouts that will take place before the Prime Video stream goes live. Also confirmed for the non-televised undercard:
Carl Jammes Martin, 25-0 (20 KOs) vs. Francisco Portillo, 19-12-2 (11 KOs) – 10 rounds, junior featherweight
Daniel Blancas, 12-0 (5 KOs) vs. Kwame Ritter, 11-2 ( 9 KOs) – 8 rounds, super middleweight
Brayan Gonzalez, 3-0 (2 KOs) vs. Osiel Flores, 2-0 (2 KOs) – 4 rounds, junior featherweight
Justin Cardona, 9-1 (5 KOs) vs. Elijah Williams, 10-1 (4 KOs) – 8 rounds, junior welterweight
John Easter, 8-0 (7 KOs) vs. Nicholas Molina, 7-3-1, (6 KOs) – 6 rounds, super middleweight
Cristian Cangelosi, 10-0 (5 KOs) vs. Samuel Figueroa, 13-2 (6 KOs) - 8 rounds, junior middleweight
