Russia’s unbeaten 2020 Olympic champion Albert Batyrgaziev, now 12-0 (8 KOs) as a pro, will defend his WBA junior lightweight title against Liverpool’s James “Jazza” Dickens in Turkey on July 2.
Dickens is a well-travelled 35-5 (14 KOs), and their bout will headline the 'Betcity IBA.PRO 7 Champion’s Night' event in Istanbul.
Batyrgaziev, 26, defeated Argentina’s Neri Romero in March and will be fighting as a professional outside of Russia for the first time.
Dickens is 34, and has won his last three since being stopped by Hector Sosa. In his previous fight, Dickens outscored Manchester contender Zelfa Barrett.
Armenia’s Hovhannes Bachkov, 7-0 (6 KOs), a former Olympic bronze medallist and highly-decorated amateur having won medals at World and European Championships, meets Uzbek Shohjahon Ergashev, 25-2 (22 KOs), in an ‘IBA.PRO-rated’ bout on the bill.
The show will also include bare-knuckle boxing bouts under the IBA Bare Knuckle banner.
