Golden Boy Promotions will promote two televised fight cards prior to the anticipated showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, matchmaker Robert Diaz told krikya360.com on Monday afternoon.

The two cards will take place on Tuesday, September 10th and on Thursday in Las Vegas, NV. The show on Tuesday will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at a venue that is yet to be announced.

The Thursday show will be broadcast live on Fox Sports, reportedly from the MGM Grand property.

Diaz confirmed two fights will take place during fight week. One bout will be a scheduled 10 round bout between unbeaten junior middleweights Julian Williams and Hugo Centeno, Jr.

The other bout is a rematch between welterweights Shawn Porter and former world champion Julio Diaz, who fought to a spirited split decision draw on December 15th at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, CA.

“Both fights have been signed and agreed to,” said Diaz.

According to Diaz, both fights could land on one card or one fight could land on Tuesday, while the other fight lands on Thursday.

However, Joel De La Hoya told krikya360.com on Sunday night that Centeno (19-0, 9 KOs) will fight Williams (13-0-1, 7 KOs) on the Thursday show. De La Hoya manages Centeno.

De La Hoya also confirmed to krikya360.com that Centeno will be sparring Miguel Cotto at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, CA, starting on Tuesday.

As is customary in boxing, Golden Boy will have the final say as to whether Centeno-Williams will remain on the Thursday show or will take place on Tuesday.

Diaz (40-8-1, 29 KOs) is coming off a very close decision loss in his last fight to Amir Khan on April 27th in Sheffield, England. Porter (21-0-1, 14 KOs) won a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision over Phil Lo Greco on May 18th in Atlantic City, NJ.
