5 time amatuer boxing champion, William Shamar Whitt, has decided to make the leap into the professional ranks after he competes in the Ringside Championship tournament in Kansas City, Missouri for his 6th title.

William is already a seasoned fighter with experience from often sparring professional fighters such as former world champion Paulie Malignaggi, and undefeated pros Danny Jacobs, (former US Olympian) Sadam  Ali, and Chazz Mcdowell. He is currently the chief sparring partner of Nicky Demarco, readying him for his fight fight July 16th at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on the Zab Judah undercard.

William is a southpaw that can also effectively box from the orthodox stance. He has power in both hands that compliments his world class speed. William is a boxer puncher that's never in a dull fight, just ask the crowds of people he attracts everytime he fights including the more than 100 supporters that watched him win his NY Golden Gloves championship at Madison Square Garden. That night, William outboxed and floored his opponent that was 11 years his senior.

Every fighter has a story but none as inspiring as this young man that has gone from tragedy to triumph.
