Malik Scott, head trainer for former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, believes there are plenty of options out there for his boxer.

Last weekend in Saudi Arabia, Wilder snapped a 14-month layoff and suffered a twelve round unanimous decision loss to former WBO champion Joseph Parker.

The loss was highly unexpected, with many observers tabbing Wilder a significant favorite entering the fight.

The loss derailed a planned mega-bout between Wilder and British star Anthony Joshua - with promoters scheduling a March date in Saudi Arabia for the event.

Wilder, 38-years-old and 1-3 in his last four ring appearances, is now at the crossroads of his career.

However, there are still options out there for the dangerous puncher.

One of those options is former unified champion Andy Ruiz, who was ringside for Wilder's fight with Parker. Earlier this year, Ruiz and Wilder were in talks to face each other, but they were unable to agree on the financial terms. Another possibility is Daniel Dubois, who knocked out Jarrell Miller on the Wilder-Parker undercard.

“Who we got. We got Andy Ruiz, who’s still looking for some action... Usyk and Fury. Daniel Dubois is there right now in a very good position. There are a few guys out there right now," Scott told FightHype.com.

“But, what’s most important to me is Deontay being right, spiritually, mentally and physically all in one - that’s more my concern, cause I know that when Deontay is all the way right none of those guys can beat him. Right now, after taking that loss and that type of performance, I’m not that keen on calling out guys. I’m focusing on the bigger picture with him getting spiritually, mentally and physically right.”
