According to The Nielsen Company, the Premier Boxing Champions telecast on FOX drew 1.45 million viewers in its prime time slot Saturday night.

Programming on each of the three remaining major networks out-performed the PBC broadcast headlined by WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s technical knockout victory over Chris Arreola in Birmingham, Alabama. CBS’ rerun of “48 Hours,” which aired from 10-11 p.m. ET, mostly at the same time as the Wilder-Arreola title fight, drew 3.2 million viewers. ABC’s “20/20: In an Instant” produced 3.35 million viewers in its 9-11 p.m. ET slot.

In the 8-9 p.m. ET hour, when PBC mostly aired the Sammy Vasquez-Felix Diaz welterweight fight, ABC’s “People List” (1.96 million), CBS’ “Angel From Hell” (1.76 million) and NBC’s “Nitro World Games” (1.52 million from 8-11 p.m. ET) all drew more viewers than the PBC broadcast.

PBC’s previous prime-time telecast on free TV, headlined by an enthralling welterweight brawl between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, was much more successful. That card, televised by CBS on June 25 from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, peaked at 3.94 million viewers toward the end of the 12-round Thurman-Porter fight.
