Kell Brook faces Rafal Jackiewicz in a world title eliminator at the Ponds Forge International Arena in Sheffield tomorrow night (October 8) and says he’s ready to fight for a world title.

The unbeaten welterweight star takes on the rugged Pole who has yet to be stopped in 48 fights live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1 from 8.30pm, and Brook is convinced that after beating the 34 year-old he is ready to step up and take a world title strap.

“It's time to go now,” said Brook at today’s weigh-in. “I've got to get into these big fights – I'm 25 and I'm ready for it.

“There’s room for a new boxing star in Britain at the moment and I’m going to be clicking into that gap of elite fighters.”

Brook was greeted with a huge cheer at today’s public weigh-in at The Winter Gardens in Sheffield, where he tipped the scales at 10st 6lb 3oz [146.1-pounds], while Jackiewicz registered at 10st 6 and ¾lb [146.75].

Tomorrow night’s soldout show begins at 6.30pm with Brook’s unbeaten stable mate Kid Galahad taking on James Ancliff. Huddersfield’s Tyrone Nurse meets Hungarian Istvan Kiss before Kenny Anderson fights Paul Morby.

Unbeaten Alfreton Welterweight Dale Miles provides the chief support against Frenchman Mihaita Mutu before the main event. English Welterweight champion Adnan Amar meets Birmingham’s Kevin McCauley and Dudley prospect Tommy Ghent faces Cleethorpes Nick Coret in two fights to be scheduled on the night.
