WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko took some time to discuss Saturday's first round technical knockout of Odlanier Solis in Cologne, Germany. Klitschko threw a right hand that landed. Solis stumbled backwards and baldy injured his right knee. He was unable to continue and fight was stopped. Klitschko was both happy and upset with the outcome. 19,000 fans paid a lot of money to watch a fight and instead they saw a three minute controversial ending.

"I'm happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy that I defended my title. But I was very upset by the fact that most viewers wanted to see a spectacular match, and expected to see a battle, a hard fight, but the fight lasted only one round. I was upset that I couldn't show everything that I practiced in training. I was ready to put on a good fight, and I had hoped that the fight would last longer than one round. But this is boxing and sometimes everything is decided with one punch, Klitschko told Dmitry Grebenshchikov.

Klitschko admits to getting angry when the fight was stopped. He charged after Solis and several members of Vitali's team had to restrain him. Klitschko didn't believe that he landed a punch hard enough to knock Solis out.

"I was a little bit angry when I saw that Solis was conscious, but he didn't get up. At first I also thought that he faking the injury, so I stormed after him. The punch was hard, but not hard enough for a knockout. Solis, I wish him a speedy recovery and I regret the fight didn't last longer," Klitschko said.
