Stadion Miejski, Wroclaw, Poland - Before a crowd of over 42,000 fans,  Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40KOs) retained his WBC heavyweight title with a dominating ten round stoppage of former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28KOs).

In the very first round, a hard right hand nearly sent Adamek down. Adamek tried to put his punches together in the second, with Vitali working a very strong jab and once again stunned Adamek with a hard right in the middle of the round. In the final ten seconds, Vitali landed another right hand that sent Adamek flying back. The Polish boxer would have went down if not for the ropes.

Adamek was still being dominated in the third. It became clear that Adamek was simply too small. He was talking some big chances, jumping in with combinations that were mostly blocked.

The Polish star was landing a few good punches at the start of the fourth and continued to make Vitali work at a fast pace. Adamek's hard left hand was on point at the start of the fifth. Klitschko started to land his own left hands as Adamek positioned himself to stay away from the right.

In the sixth, Klitschko landed another bomb that sent Adamek flying back into the ropes, and this time the ref gave a knockdown ruling because the ropes held the Polish boxer up. Adamek was hurt and circled away from Vitali until the bell. Vitali's nose was bleeding badly as the seventh round began.

Klitschko's jab dominated the seventh round and he was breaking Adamek down. Klitschko continued his domination in the eight and ninth. Adamek was taking a lot of punishment.

In the tenth, Vitali was handing out a pure beating to Adamek. He was landing hard shots with both hands. Adamek's legs were gone and he was ready to go, as the ref jumped in to wave it off.
