I confirm that Ricky Hatton has been left unable to fulfil his media commitments at the impending Floyd Mayweather Jnr vs. Marcos Maidana fight.

Ricky has been advised that he must apply for a Visa for entry into the US as the documents he intended to travel with have been deemed insufficient for entry at this time. This was a huge surprise to Ricky but unfortunately nothing can be done to make the application in time for him to travel this week.

Ricky has been looking forward to returning to Las Vegas once again, the home of many of his famous boxing occasions, and to working closely with BoxNation as a commentator at this Saturday's event.

There has been no indication that Ricky will not be able to travel in the future and I can confirm that Ricky has no criminal convictions of any sort and intends to make the application for a new Visa as soon as possible.

It is not intended that Ricky will make further comment or be available to any other media outlet due to his commitments to

 London - Atif Shafiq is "excited" and feeling "really confident" ahead of his fight on May 10 at Ponds Forge Arena, Sheffield.

The 20-year-old lightweight feels he is "maturing physically" and is looking forward to "another big show" on the undercard to Kid Galahad's fight for the vacant Commonwealth title, live on Channel 5.

"I’m feeling really confident ahead of my fight on May 10th," Atif said.

"I’ve had some great sparring for this camp - the likes of Kid Galahad, Leigh Wood, Jordan Gill, Sam O’maison, Samir Mouneimne from Hull, so we’ve had a lot of variety.

"I’ve been doing a lot of strength and conditioning and I can feel myself filling out a bit more and maturing physically - Every time I go into a fight I’m feeling different and more mature as a fighter."

The Rotherham man, known as 'Unique' boasts a perfect 10 wins from 10 fights and in his last contest in March he overcame Michael Mooney over four rounds and admits it was a good learning fight as he looks to keep progressing.

"I felt really good last time out and my opponent wasn’t actually the weight I was meant to be fighting at and he had about half a stone on me," Atif said.

"It was another good learning experience, I enjoyed it and now I know that when I do fight someone my own weight it will be a lot easier, more comfortable and more natural to me - I’m excited and really looking forward to another big show."

Atif fights on the undercard of fellow Ingle Gym fighter and newly crowned European super bantamweight champion Kid Galahad as he takes on Australian champion Fred 'The General' Mundraby for the vacant Commonwealth title.

Also scheduled to fight in Sheffield is undefeated heavyweight sensation Hughie Lewis Fury and Morden's former British champion and European title contender Lenny Daws, as well as a whole host of local talent

London - ‘Tasty’ Travis Dickinson is confident he has “everything” to beat  ‘Magic’ Matty Clarkson in the MaxiNutrition Knockout semi-finals at Leeds Town Hall on May 17, live on Channel 5.

The newly crowned English light heavyweight champion, Dickinson, won  his title with a knockout performance in the quarter-finals and “can’t wait” for the next round.

“It meant a lot to me to win the English title, it’s my first proper professional title and I won it in style,” Dickinson said.

“I can’t wait to get out there in the semi-final, obviously I know that Matty Clarkson is a good boxer, but I know I’m going to beat him.”

The 26-year-old Newcastle fighter, Dickinson, emphatically knocked out former European champion Danny McIntosh inside three rounds in their MaxiNutrition Knockout quarter-final contest, sending the Norwich man to the canvas three times in the process.

That win set up his semi-final showdown with Clarkson, who battled his way to a points decision against the tricky Sheffield fighter Lee Duncan in their respective quarter-final and Dickinson isn't overlooking the determined and resilient Preston man.

“I was very satisfied with my performance, especially finishing the fight as early as I did,” Dickinson said.

“I knew that if I caught him I would have the power to stop him but to do it that early was even better.

“Matty had a bad night in the quarter-final against Lee Duncan and now people are telling me he’s not good, but that’s not the case - he’s going to come into this one and have a go for my title, so he’ll be training harder than ever.

“But I know I’ve got everything to beat him, so I’m on my game and I have no worries.

"The MaxiNutrition Knockout is a big competition and winning it would obviously mean the world to me."

This fantastic night of championship boxing will also see Leeds fighter and newly crowned British light heavyweight champion Bob Ajisafe take on Swanley’s Southern Area champion Leon Senior in the second semi-final to decide who will compete for the first ever MaxiNutrition Knockout title.

The night will also feature a whole host of exciting talent on the undercard including former world heavyweight title contender (against Wladimir Klitschko) 'Fast' Eddie Chambers, Bradford's former WBC world light welterweight champion Junior Witter, as well as Leeds fighter Damon Jones, Bradford's Darren Tetley, Hull fighter Samir Mouneimne and Morecambe's Isaac Lowe.
