Cruiserweight Tristan Kalkreuth defeated Anthony Halloway via unanimous decision in the co-feature of a Thursday card at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.
Kalkreuth was the only winner on the DAZN-broadcast undercard to go the distance, with all three judges scoring the bout 99-91 in his favor.
Kalkreuth (14-1, 10 KOs), 22, originally from Texas, landed a pivotal right hand in the third round, prompting Halloway (7-7-3, 7 KOs), 30, of Peoria, Illinois, to adjust and fight back aggressively on the inside. Despite efforts from coach Brian “BoMac” McIntyre to motivate him to secure a stoppage, Kalkreuth failed to maintain his output as the bout progressed, allowing Halloway to finish on his feet.
Junior welterweight Grant Flores (5-0, 4 KOs), 19, from Thermal, California, stopped Josias Gonzalez (2-3-1) of Whittier, California, in the third round. Flores capitalized on Gonzalez's willingness to trade punches, delivering impactful blows that forced the referee to halt the fight at 2:34. Gonzalez had fought Sasha Tudor to a draw in February.
Junior lightweight Leonardo Sanchez (7-0, 6 KOs), 21, known as “Bazooka,” showcased his power by defeating 35-year-old Jenel Lausa (11-4-1, 7 KOs) of the Philippines in the fourth round. Sanchez, from Cathedral City, California, scored two knockdowns in the third, followed by a decisive left hook in the fourth, leading to a stoppage at 1:08.
In the opening bout, junior welterweight Cayden Griffiths (1-0, 1 KO), 18, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, made a successful professional debut by stopping Juan Bautista Romero (0-2), 22, from Mexico, in two rounds. Griffiths landed effective left hooks to the body, causing a delayed reaction from Romero and prompting the referee to call off the fight at 0:43 of the second round.
